Opportunities for Parent and Community Involvement
Parent involvement in education is welcomed. Support roles include:
• Listening to children read
• Exchanging home readers
• Assisting children with their writing
• Involvement in Art/Craft classroom activities
• Assisting in areas of expertise eg. Information Technology, drama, music
• Participating in school excursions and camps
• Attending various sports carnivals as helpers and spectators
• Participating as an audience member at school assemblies
• Participating in market days
• Attending instrumental concerts
• Taking part in special cultural days
• Coaching school sporting teams and involvement in weekend competitions
• Assisting with dance and music performances by students at local venues
• Assisting with lunchtime club activities including chess and computers
• Providing home-stay for visitors from our sister city and twin school in Nara, Japan
• Attending Parent/Teacher meetings
• Coming to P&C Association meetings and taking part in discussions on matters of vital educational interest.
Assist the P&C Association in the running of school operations, eg:
• The Canteen
• Before and After School Care (CASAC)
• Uniform Shop
• Music Program
• Playground Beautification
• Book Club
• Information Technology Support Group
• Fundraising initiatives
