Celebrating our Students
I was recently notified that two CPS students have been selected for the Instrumental Music Program’s Extension Ensembles. Congratulations to Anjali S (trombone) and Lina M (trumpet). This is a significant achievement and we are all very proud of you both.
NAPLAN
NAPLAN officially finishes this week and I wanted to take this opportunity to celebrate the hard work and dedication of our Year 3 & 5 students. Regardless of the outcomes, it's important to recognise that their efforts have not gone unnoticed. They have demonstrated resilience, perseverance, and a genuine enthusiasm for learning, which will undoubtedly serve them well in all their future endeavours. We are proud of all of our students and hope they enjoyed the ice cream party.
Save the Date: Parent Portal Launch
Last newsletter I included information regarding the Parent Portal. The Parent Portal is a web-based platform that can be accessed on a mobile device or computer and will allow easier access to a range of information. We would like all families to register for the Portal. Please see the instructions below:
How to register for Parent Portal
Three steps to register for the Parent Portal
- Wait until your school advises you that they are ready to accept registrations. They will do this via their school newsletter and/or a letter.
- Sign up for an ACT Digital Account if you do not already have one. This is an important step in securely verifying the identity of parents and carers. It will not be possible to set up an account without undertaking this step.
- You will be sent an access key (code) and a Parent Portal registration link specific to your child’s school via email to enable you to link your ACT Digital Account to your child’s records.
The CPS launch date is Tuesday of Week 10 (2nd April).

Hope all our families have a lovely weekend and get a chance to enjoy the Canberra Autumn sun.
Take care,

On Tuesday 19 March we celebrated Harmony Week with a number of whole-school activities. The school was a sea of colour, with lots of orange and beautiful cultural outfits from around the world.
The whole school was treated to a reading of ‘Happy in Our Skin’ by Fran Manushkin, read by the wonderful Mr Lawson over the PA system while each class looked through the illustrations. Later in the day we enjoyed a sausage sizzle (thank you to the P&C and staff who supported with this!) and buddy activities. It was a joy to see our older students supporting the little ones and look forward to seeing these friendship flourish throughout the year.
Thank you to the Cultural Integrity staff committee for organising our special day, it was a wonderful celebration of diversity and belonging!

Environment for Kids and Environment for Youth - Survey for students years 4-10
The Office of the Commissioner for Sustainability and the Environment wants to hear from you! As part of the upcoming release of the 2023 ACT State of the Environment Report, we will be updating our two websites for young people: Environment for Kids (for students in years 4-6) and Environment for Youth (for students in years 7-10).
But first, we want to receive feedback from young people and teachers about the existing websites so we can identify what we can improve. Students and teachers are invited to spend some time exploring the websites and to fill out the related survey: Environment for Kids Survey, or Environment for Youth Survey. Surveys close on Tuesday, 26 March 2024.
